TopShop and Pinterest is the Perfect Holiday Pairing

There’s plenty of social media sites around but there’s nothing that can compare with the visual presentation that Pinterest offers. Twitter is text-based and sometimes asinine while Facebook is narcissistic and always inane -- Pinterest actually has relevant content that is usually based from a third party source (store, blog, etc.)

London-based retailer TopShop, which is slowly gaining ground in the United States, is teaming up with Pinterest to make every item in their catalog “social media enabled”. Meaning that every item in apparel and accessories can be “pinned” from their shopping website. If you have a Pinterest account, your pins from the TopShop website will appear.

The famous store from England has teamed up with Pinterest for its holiday campaign, "Dear Topshop,". This motto will be ringing from brick and mortar shops, online, editorial, and social media. "A Gift That Will Wow" or "Someone Who Loves Sparkle" will be other sayings strewn about for shoppers and online buyers. Every single item is Pinnable and can be shared or posted on any other type of social media channels.

TopShop will be taking into account what is getting pinned. The homepage will reveal the most pinned item by users. There, shoppers online will get an understanding of what the hot items of the season are. Once again, this is an example of just how social media made shopping easier.

And pinning on Pinterest from TopShop will ensure you prizes from the retailer. One of the big prizes is access to a TopShop hosted fashion show for the Kate Moss branded collection. Other prizes available are customizable “dream” outfits and more access to runway and trunk shows. Pinterest and TopShop are teaming up to make this holiday one an easily accessible one on social media.
