Oscar De La Renta Comes With an Affordable Line

At this time of the year, we want to spoil ourselves and our loved ones with the best clothes and accessories. But the top lines and best designers come and a high price. And these prices may never come -- but there is an alternative: Designers are coming out with their own lower-priced but not lower-grade lines.

Fans of Oscar de la Renta who can almost afford his main collection can find his some of his creations in their own closets. The designer has created a second exclusive collection for Net-a-Porter’s discount offshoot, The Outnet. This retail website has found itself partnering up with several designers to bring exclusive yet affordable lines to customers.

Oscar’s main line, the dresses which can easily set you back over $3,000, won’t be included in the new line. The new line share a lot in common besides the designer. The dresses, jackets and tops that make up The Outnet collection are made in the same factory, using the same fabrics and patterns from the main collection. Thus, prices range from $325 for a tank to $1,095 for a floor-length dress.

The materials used in the new lines are mostly leftovers and extras from the main line. It’s all Oscar de la Renta and shoppers were certainly into it. The Outnet sold out of half of the first collection the first day it went on sale. So obviously this will be a resourceful pattern a lot of designers will be following.

Many pieces of the Oscar de la Renta line are out on the Outnet right now. The complete line will be out on December 19 and will definitely get a lot of attention and sales.
